Five days unlocks the whole archipelago: close cays (Madrisquí, Francisqui), far cays (Cayo de Agua, Crasqui, Noronqui), an optional 2-dive day with Dive Center Los Roques, and a half-day kite lesson at Play Los Roques. Stay at one of the well-run Italian-Venezuelan posadas on Gran Roque. The park has been protected since 1972 (Decreto 1.061) and is a Ramsar wetland; permits are handled by your posada. Lobster season closes May–Oct — check before you book the langosta dinner.
Best months: Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Jul, Aug.
