The Feria de la Chinita is the heartbeat of Maracaibo’s year — a fair honouring the Virgen de la Chiquinquirá, the city’s patron, affectionately known as "La Chinita." For days the Zulian capital fills with gaita, the driving folk music of the region, alongside processions, bullfights, fireworks and the famous amanecer gaitero.
It is at once deeply religious and unmistakably Maracucho — proud, loud and warm, a celebration of a city that wears its identity openly.
